Former Wipro employee alleges harassment, forced resignation — police probe underway

A former Wipro project manager filed a police complaint alleging she faced sustained harassment and retaliation from her supervisor and a colleague at the company’s Hinjawadi (Pune) office. She claimed her laptop access was altered without authorization, her resignation was submitted without her consent, and HR was allegedly involved in efforts to push her out after she reported concerns internally. Separately, she alleged a colleague repeatedly pressured her regarding her personal life and religious practices. She has served Wipro a legal notice seeking cancellation of the resignation, reinstatement with back pay, a written apology, and ₹50 lakh in compensation, and has also approached the Maharashtra Human Rights Commission. Pune police confirmed an inquiry is underway. Wipro says it’s fully cooperating with authorities, has provided requested documents, and maintains what it describes as a “zero-tolerance approach” to harassment and misconduct, adding that it cannot comment further while the matter is under investigation. As with the Tech Mahindra case, these are the complainant’s allegations; the company hasn’t addressed the specific claims publicly, and no findings have been made yet.
