Job Description
Copperfield Capital Advisors is hiring an FP&A Analyst to support financial planning and analysis for a portfolio of growth-stage companies. You will build and maintain detailed financial models that portfolio company leadership actually relies on for real decisions, not models that get built once and go stale within a quarter. You will lead monthly budgeting and forecasting cycles across multiple portfolio companies simultaneously, chasing down inputs from finance teams who are often juggling far more than FP&A on their plate, and you will analyze variances against plan to explain not just what happened but why, in language that's useful to non-finance executives. You will prepare board-ready reporting packages under real deadline pressure, where a formatting error or a wrong number in front of investors is not a small mistake. You will partner directly with portfolio company finance teams to identify genuine cost-saving opportunities and to improve forecast accuracy over time, building enough trust that they come to you proactively rather than only when the numbers are already a problem. Strong Excel and VBA skills are required for this role, along with prior hands-on FP&A or investment analysis experience, this is not an entry-level modeling role.
